Creating Book Themed Baby Shower Table

This weekend is my cousin's baby shower that will be hosted at a restaurant with brunch.  We are organizing a book themed baby shower with each table featuring a different children's book.  This is a good gender neutral theme since my cousin and her partner are not finding out the gender of the baby until he/she is born.  The collage of images above feature a good mix of food based centerpieces and decorative centerpieces that incoporate elements of the book as well as color themes.  I absolutely love the matched flowers for Where the Wild Things Are.

SHOWER INVITATION

The design was based around a library card with a bookworm graphic on it.  Design similar to below.  Tying in the book theme; everyone has been asked to bring one of their favorite children's book as part of their baby shower gift.

MY BOOK SELECTION

I am responsible for putting together one of the tables and selected On the Night You were Born by Nancy Tillman.  I love the sweet message of this book and it has several themes to select from for decoration.  Since the restaurant will be supplying the food, the decorations will be in the form of a decorative centerpiece.  Some simple things that I can purchase:  local craft/party store 1) navy blue tablecloth 2) silver star confetti and then head to a Target for 3) stuffed polar bear 4) duck bath toys.

I can't wait to share pictures from Sunday to show you the shower decorations and themed centerpieces.
